LWCC recently recognized AMPOL as one of the 70 safest companies of its 22,000 policy holders.

New Iberia, LA April 7, 2009: American Pollution Control Corporation, a 24-hour emergency response environmental contractor, was recently recognized by the Louisiana Workman's Comp Corporation (LWCC) as one of the 70 safest companies of its 22,000 policy holders.

The Safest 70 award is given for exemplary dedication to safety and performance and is based on losses and loss control prevention records.

"Safety is our first concern on every job we do," said company President and CEO Kirk Headley. "Our successes allow us to continue to grow our company throughout the Gulf of Mexico."

The latest award marks the second consecutive year that AMPOL has achieved the recognition, something not many of the 22,000 policy holders have achieved said LWCC representatives on hand for the award presentation. "This award reaffirms our steps in the right direction when it comes to the safety of our employees," said AMPOL Safety Director Stephen Thubron. "We will continue to strive to be a leader and example in the industry as we maintain our excellence in performance on the job."

Headquartered in New Iberia, La., AMPOL also operates a satellite office in Harvey, La. The company specializes in spill response, nearshore and offshore marine cleaning and facilities decontamination, confined space tank cleaning, asbestos abatement, lead products removal, mold and mildew abatement, insulation services, and oil spill containment and recovery products.
